Dr Reesink, who is Associate Professor of Large Animal Surgery at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell University, US, is a specialist in equine orthopaedics and applied clinical research, and has published widely on musculoskeletal disease of the Thoroughbred racehorse. She has a particular interest in preventing fractures in racehorses, and in the application of molecular biology to study orthopaedic disease. These two appointments expand the VAC to eight members and provide additional experience and knowledge that will further enhance the review of applications and technical advice that the committee can provide to the Foundation\u2019s Board.<\/span><\/p><p><span>Both appointments were made from a list of distinguished scientists from around the world, who responded to a call issued by the Foundation for Expression of Interest.
